e1705 hard drive squeeking?

My dell i9400 or e1705 has been making a loud squeeking sound at random times. It sounds like when you have a defective cd drive and its trying to find out with the hell you put in it's tray- except worse. The harddrive is 80gb and 5400 rpm.
I've noticed very very slow file transfers too. I think I'll run a harddive benchmarking program tomorrow.

Anyone ever had this happen before? Should I call dell for my warranty?

any input will probably help,

Couldnt hurt to call them and find out whats going on.
