We upgraded the ram to 2 gigs. on both with GeeDom memory off e-bay 38.00 a gig a couple of months ago and runs great.
Cool Beans Your lucky the Memory Upgrade went well for you, back in FEB 2007, I had to return KINGSTON & GELI MEMORY back to where I bought them TWICE, but, I did manage to find the Correct Memory Sticks that would work with VISTA.....and, Some how, I dunno why, but I got 2 upgrades in the mail ,all in about 2 months apart, the problem is, I don't have any Gateway's to put them on, so for now, they sit on the shelf

So crazy to read that 2 people have more than one copy of Vista when it seemed like forever to get my one. And no, sadly, still have not installed it because I need to get a back-up medium and to see what all is non-compatible. Give me till the end of the year at the rate I'm going.... Maybe by then any kinks in it wil be all worked out or close.

Lsc_ya - good luck with your Vista installs. Hope everything continues to run smooth!!

Denb - what are you going to do with your other copies?

I'm not sure? I think they are pretty-much-worthless, without a Gateway to put them on? maybe I will buy another (Gateway Desktop or Notebook) that ships w/ XP, got to put them on something, a new Gateway wouldn't do me any good as they already come with Vista Installed , I better act fast tho, cuz a lotta of the Gateway's that still ship with XP are getting very hard to find I still got my eyes on a few models tho MX6453, MX6448, MX6454, but they still seem to be way-over-priced for AMD 2x 1.6MHz Duo Cores tho, they still cost the same as a new one..........go figure!!!

I recently checked the MX6454 out (by accident) looking for mine, and you do so again as well. There's something less on it than on the model I have but I forget exactly what it is right now. I am sure whatever your decision you will research it thoroguhly though. I am trying to get a pocket media drive or the personal media drive, both of which I have $50 towards the purchase of each one. I was hoping the price would drop a lil more since my first peek back in Decemeber when they were $149. So far, they've gone down to $129. I can only get it on HP's site, so I am optionless on that issue. Waiting....

Yeah the MX6454 and the MX6448 only comes with 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 120 HD, but everything else is THE SAME as your MX6453 but I just checked, and they are ALL SOLD OUT!!! Oh well
