Compaq Presario 2500 2.4ghz can I upgrade it to 3.06ghz?

My girlfriend has this laptop and wanted me to upgrade the CPU for her. I believe the same model may have different motherboards and 2.4ghz 400mhz fsb is the fastest her's will do. Are all of them using P4-M mobiles and will her laptop be able to do 533mhz fsb?

I would just get a 400mhz bus P4 @ like 3GHz or something.

she currently has a p4-m 2.4 400 fsb. She wants the 3ghz 533 bus has her friend has the same model and is using the 3ghz cpu. I'm telling her it's the same model but a different mobo and it's not possible. That's what I'm assuming

Well ur gonna have to give us more info on the mobo. Because I know there are definitely some motherboards that take either a 400 or 533 bus p4, but then there are some that only take 400.

So its definitely possible, just that we have to know more about the certain model to tell u for sure.
