Asus G1 DVD Driver Doesn't work

I don't know why no matter what disc I put in, it won't read it. It just keep asking me to insert a disc, but I already put in a disc.

Can anyone help me??

What kind of disc did you try? was it a cd or dvd? Have you tried other medias?

If it is hot swap bay, take it out and push it back in. I get that problem sometimes on my z70Va.

It won't see the drive at all.

The laptop comes with a few cds and I tried to put in the Nero installation cd in and it doesn't work.. The only cd that works is the DVD recovery disc...and I tried to put in warcraft installation cd and it doesn't work..It just doesn't seem to read or recognize the cd

Looks like your drive is on its way to the great CD/DVD drive heaven in the sky.
If its a hot swappable drive then order a new one from a reseller. My drive will read some cd's but not others. In fact I had to install COD2 from across my home network using the DVD drive on my girlfriends laptop.
