I thought it would be better to post this matter in Dell General Forum, as it is not totally related to Vista.

Hope there is no problem with that.

Well for us Vista people ill save you some hasle. Ghost does not work with Vista! Found thid out the hard way. I also have backed it up with documentation online. Acronis True Image and drivesnapshot (which is free) both work with vista. Drivesnapshot.de I think is the link. It will even make a image while your in widows.

If the hardware is similar it should work. You could remove the ide/sata drivers before you create the image. The main problem with moving OS from one set of hardware to the other is the incompatibility with the ide/sata drivers. If you are going from nvidea to ati graphics you'll also want to remove the graphics driver by replacing it with a generic vga driver.

No it won't install within the Vista OS, However it's still usable, in DOS, just boot form any backup Norton Ghost you have, and while in DOS just restore whatever you want, USB 2.0, DVD's CD, dose not matter which format, it works for me, made a CLONE of Vista the other day................ to restore after the clone, just do the same, it works only in DOS
