I was wondering if Dell now includes the Vista OS CD? I know in the past, we bascally had to pull teeth, or pay an extra fee to get the XP CD's. So, those of you that have purchased a new lappie with Vista, what CD's did you get? Thanks!

I just got an XPS M1210 and it included a Vista DVD. I think it may be an extra cost option for Insprion or Latitude models.

I got my new M1710 delivered yesterday and received a Vista reinstallation DVD just like all the other Dells in the past. It is not a Vista DVD, but contains vista intergrated with the rest of the Dell stuff that is normally on the restore CD. I also received Roxio Creator & My DVD ver 9.0, a backup CD of my security software, and a Dell driver disk. PC Restore is not an option on this system, they recommed Windows restore software to get you out of trouble or re-install without losing your personal files. Anything else would be a clean install as is normally done. Hope this helps.

I ordered my Express Vista Upgrade from Dell for $10. I probably won't use the Vista upgrade DVD at all, since I have an MSDN subscription and I am already running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The only reason that I went ahead and got the upgrade is for the software CDs that come with the upgrade AND so I can tell Dell I got the upgrade from them when they ask why I am running Vista.

yea my 9400 came with my Ultimate disk, as soon as i got my laptop i formatted and re-installed ultimate for a nice clean install, doesnt install any of dell's stuff other than ofcourse their logo.

Does not require CD Key to be entered or anything. Fast and easy install, I love my copy of Ultimate cause i am a format freak, i do it like once a month....
