Which Chip for max battery life?

So i've pretty much decided im buying a PC laptop but now im really confused on what chipset to get. I know the Core 2 Dual is the 64 bit version of the Dual Core but whats the difference in battery life/heat generation of the two? or should i even consider the old celeron chips? Again i have no game play aspirations with this device just web, word, email, occasional movie, and some tunes.

why you're posting in Linux is beyond me. but...C2D is good. Turion X2 is 2nd best. Stay away from Cellery adn Sempron if possible
