HDD never stops running fast

My Hdd is running flat out even when im not using computer

Could be a number of things. AV, anti-spyware or defrag utily doing a scan.
Look in precesses tab to see what processes are running. That should tell what is causing the disk activity.
If you run Vista then it is indexing your files and defragging the drive.One the indexing is done it will stop.

or you can just disable indexing.. I did and didn't notice any real performance hit, but the disk running sure did stop..

Always a good idea (unless for some reason you really need to make lots fast searches of your HDD often).
