That statement is not totally true. If you have a "smart" Li-ION battery and don't "deep cycle" it from time to time, it becomes "dumb" and forgets what the capacity of the battery is. For example at 90%, it may think and report that the battery is dead. Then Windows, closes everything down @ 90%. You would need a new battery in this case (been there and done it).
