Can I buy/install a Bluetooth module in my M115-S3094? How/where?

I have a M115-S3094 which didn't come with bluetooth, but I'd like to add it.

Where can I buy a module? I assume I can add it, right? I assume install would be easy if I can follow instructions on how to get it apart (I know where to find them).

Thanks so much!!

Got this by Googling "adding bluetooth laptop"

I suppose I wasn't clear.

I know all of that. What I want is to add bluetooth internally in the same way that a more expensive model Toshiba might come with it from the factory.

Exteral bluetooth adapters are cumbersome and tend to have SHITTY drivers.

Bluetooth is usually soldered to the motherboard in laptops. You can add a usb bluetooth module internally with some tweaking on select laptops but you'd be stuck with crappy drivers anyway.

Can anyone confirm that this is definitely the case for me?

I have seen internal bluetooth adapters for laptops, even toshiba. I really hope there is some way for me to add one.

Is there an available internal mini pci slot or anything like that on this laptop?

I have both the Satellite M40 and the very handy Satellite U200 and wanted a non-dongle bluetooth solution for both. I spent some time searching the internet, eventually settling for a PCMCIA Bluetooth solution at http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...ure=Billionton.
I'm quite happy with it as it barely sticks out of the laptop, and ended up buying a second one for my M40 to replace the dongle I was using. It's just like having a built in solution and cheaper.
I use it mainly with a BT mouse and keyboard but have tested it with a BT GPS ,have sent files back and forth between both laptops as well as between my Palm and the laptop. So far it has always worked. If you do try this BT solution make sure you download the latest BT stack from Toshiba. It works much better than the one that ships with the card.

Are you sure about that? I thought it was just a little module that gets screwed in someplace & attached to the antenna. At least in the tecra in my sig I can supposedly add on BT in this manner (but then BT was an option in the customized versions of this laptop). I've found the compatible modules on ebay for like $40.

I did say usually

PCMCIA solution is the best one, IMO.

So it uses the same chipset as the toshiba laptops? That would be good. How are the drivers? They're not annoying and obtrusive and ugly like the bluesoleil ones are they? And that link didn't have a picture . How much does it stick out? I'd REALLY REALLY prefer if it didn't at all. I also would rather not have to use PCMCIA as I have a CF reader that I would like to live there permanently.

It only sticks out about 1/4 of an inch at most. I leave it in all the time and have had no fear of damage. The card also has two little led lights, one green and one blue.
I really couldn't tell you how the Toshiba BT stack compares to the Bluesoleil SW since I've never used it, but I'm mainly concerned about functionality and for my purposes the Tosh Stack works well and is a bit more reliable than the software that came with my old Belkin dongle I was using. So I'm happy with it from that point of view.
The only problem I've seen is that I sometimes have to reconnect my mouse after my laptop comes out of standby mode, but that's not very often.

The best thing to do is to get a mini-pci card that does wifi and bluetooth at once:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-MS-6855B-MP5...QQcmdZViewItem

The MSI card is only $35.

Your M115 should be BT compatible. All the stuff should already be on your system board and all you would have to do is purchase the factory internal BT module. Call the number on this webiste and they should be able to help you out. www.cpurepair.com
Note: Usually the install is pretty technical, so I would recommend you have an Authorized Service Provider do the work.
