I have the Satellite M70. It is my sister's computer and I am trying to service it.
This problem begun only recently. The OS is Windows XP SP2. It operates on wireless internet.
It seems to me that the computer is searching for a connection that isn't there, because when I completely disconnect the wireless internet, everything works fine.
An example of this problem is when I go into Internet Explorer (it loads fine), then I click the address bar drop down menu, and it freezes for about 30 seconds. Then it opens, and everything works fine. Every time I re-open IE (6.0), the same problem occurs. There is an icon in the bottom right indicating that the wireless connection is trying to connect.
A better example is when I simply click on My Computer, and you see that little flash light, searching. About 30 seconds later, everything loads up. Again, IF the computer is completely disconnected from an internet source, it loads instantly.
I don't know what to do, but a possible solution would be to reset Windows XP to it's default settings. How do I do this?
I'm asking this question on these forums because there is A LOT of Toshiba software on her computer, and I am not sure if it could be interfering with her connectivity.
Thank you very much, any help would be greatly appreciated.
