Just recently purchased a Toshiba A135 with Vista Basic pre-installed. I wanted to make sure I had no issues with software compatability problems so I downgraded to XP. I'd hate to use Vista since I would need to buy more memory to make it run decent.

I'm experiencing keyboard problems where keys do not reflect the correct characters. I scoured google and here; I found that this is a typical problem with the Satellites. However, I can't seem to find a fix for the A135.

Keyboard configuration is correct under control panel. No Bios upgrades are available at Toshiba.

I figure Office Depot just had a bunch of these notebooks sold recently and maybe someone had the same experience or possibly a solution.

TIA

UPDATE: Still no fix on the keyboard but now I've got a serious power problem. The laptop would intermittently lock up; I mean the display would turn off and the power on LED would stay orange instead of green including all system status led's. I tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds but no response. To cycle power I would have to remove the battery from the bottom. What's even strange is the wireless power led will not turn off even if the switch is set to off. I think this is a hardware problem; perhaps a "lemon" from Toshiba.
