Hi. New guy here. I was just wondering why Alienware maxes out most of there specs as satandard, but then offers an Area 51m with only 256meg Ram standard. Wouldn't that seriously bottleneck a potentially kickass system? I know you can upgrade, but if I were Alienware I wouldn't even offer 256meg on this system.

Try one of the higher configs; the Enthusiast config has 512MB default, and the Extreme has 1GB.

Yeah, that's what I did. I ordered the enthusiast with 512, but now I'm thinking about upgrading the ram to 1 gig. Would this make alot of difference in gaming experience?

going from 512-1024 makes a HUGE difference.

you can never...NEVER have too much RAM
