I just purchased a A8Js with vista home premium preinstalled but i've already hit some problems on first day of playing around
Please help if you can:
1) I dont like all these restrictions that vista likes to impose, so I want to install XP as a secondary OS, problem is, vista wont let me start the install process saying that its an older version. I tried disabling the "Program Compatibility Assistant" under services in administrative tools but that didnt help. At this point I dont even mind giving up on Vista and just go back to XP but vista won't let me do that.
2) I play Warcraft III alot, but that game requires the cd-rom in drive to initialize. Upon booting up the computer, the optical drive reads the cd-rom just fine. But say for instance I exit out of the game and decide to play again later, (computer is on during this duration), a pop up message says that the game is not in the optical drive when it is.
3)During gameplay of WC3 or CS:source, the computer would sometimes "freeze up" for 5 seconds or so. Is this a hardware or driver problem?
4)Is the unit suppose to come with an OS cd? All i got was a recovery disc, the A8 software support, and Nero. I have a feeling not having the OS cd makes problem 1 even more difficult, nor can I do a clean re-install.
I'd really appreciate if you guys can help solve my problems, but I know the first problem is particularly harder, but any information would help!
