Vista upgrade question - Revert back to XP?

Before I pull the trigger on my "free" Vista upgrade from Dell, I was wondering if it is possible to re-install my XP MCE if I don't like Vista. The EULA on Dell's website says that my COA is transferred to my copy of Vista and I am worried that means that I won' t be able to switch back if I want to. After all the work I went through to get my MCE installation media so that I could slick my system and start over, I'd hate to be stuck with Vista.

Dual boot it, if you have a separate disk or partition to put it on. I dual boot it on my desktop and my E1705. You can also hold on for a while to that upgrade. Vista drivers and some software are not ready. I know from experience there. My streaming music software will not work with it. I also have a tv tuner with beta software for it. It does not work well at all.

Actually, you can upgrade to Vista without invalidating your XP MCE key. Follow this workaround from Microsoft's internal documentation

1. boot with the windows vista upgrade dvd. 2. click "install now." 3. do not enter a product key when prompted. 4. when prompted, select the vista product edition that you do have. 6. install vista normally. 7. once the install is complete, restart the dvd-based setup from within windows vista. perform an in-place upgrade. 8. enter your product key when prompted.

Wow why would you even think about taking Vista off when it was free (Unless of course it is really messed up)?! LOL If you don't "like" Vista after you download you can send it to me and I will see if I think the same. :P
