Hey everyone, i just recently purchased a Toshiba tecra S1 with a 1.4 centrino, 15 inch screen, bluetooth, wifi, either a 40 gig or 30 gig harddrive, 256 ram i know its not much, sd card reader for 290 shipped. When i first bought it i thought it was a deal now im having second thoughts so i decided to come on here and get your opinions. Thanks everyone.

For $290 and in working condition with no problems, thats a pretty good deal. Increasing the memory is cheap. Just have to see what is the maximum memory the motherboard can handle.
For basic notebook usage, internet, word documents, school work...not a bad deal in my opinion.

Thanks. For the ram the max it can hold is 2gb.

Yea, looks like you did good. Just a year ago I paid just over $400 for the M2 in my sig sans HDD and I thought it was a good deal at the time.

Don't worry so much about what others think. If you're comforatable with the performance then just enjoy it. But if you add some ram the performance will definitely be better and you will be able to enjoy it even more. I'd say at the very least slap a 512mb stick in there to accompany the 256 you've already got. But of course if you can afford more then go for it.
