Ok i'm going to try to come into this forum as prepared as possible so you don't all flame me for being a noob and not doing my own research so here goes. I just purchased this laptop (Compaq NC4000) a few days ago and have been curious of a few things. Now as far as I have read online you cannot upgrade the video cards period in laptops without some weird modding to be done yourself (not plug and play). I'm fairly familiar with desktop computers in general but i'm new to the whole world of notebooks and laptops as this is the first one I have owned. The specs are listed here for anyone who feels like helping and wants to get up to speed as to where i'm coming from. The computer is upgraded to 512mb of ddr with 32mb dedicated to video. Also the hard drive is upgraded to 40gb instead of the base 20/30gb. Now what I'm thinking I would like to do if it is possible is upgrade my ram to 1024mb and dedicate more to video (say 256) and leave the rest for ram. So basically my questions are as follows:
-Am I correct about the video cards being non-upgradeable?
-If I upgrade my ram to 1024mb will it significantly help my performance?
-If I upgrade my ram to 1024mb can I dedicate more to video, and how much?
