how to make bluetooth on Compal CL56 work in Vista?

Hi,

i've got a Compal CL56 that I've installed Windows Vista business on. Does anybody know how to make the internal bluetooth adapter work in Vista? I know I need the easy button software to turn the BT on, and I cannot find a version of this program that works in Vista, so any help will be appreciated... thanks!

okay, I realize that not too many CL56's around are equipped with the original, internally mounted BT adapter, but is it anyone who can give a little hint on some neat trick or just something that might theoretically work?

no idea. why don't you try to contact your reseller. i'm sure they have some hint of how to troubleshoot the hardware they set up under different OS's.

hehe, well, the reseller that I bought the laptop from does not exist any more, and another reseller who has been selling the same model didn't even know how to set up the bluetooth on Win2K/XP (however, I found out that by myself after a lot of trying).

try the guys at discountlaptops or powernotebooks? i really don't know who would have more experience but maybe they will have dealt with very similar models, if not the cl56, and vistas...

which reseller of yours kicked the bucket so suddenly?

I finally found one of these modules recently and I can't get it to work on vista or xp. Did you have it working in XP before? If so how did you get it to work? When I look at the EZ button configuration it says bluetooth does not exist. When I installed it the drivers loaded and said it was ok. I'm sure it's just like the wireless card and needs to be activated via software.
