I am confused. I guess it isn't a misprint, but I've never heard of the ATI x2000 series. It's not an overly pricey system, and only 128mb VRAM, what's the point? Better battery economy is all I can find, but there doesn't seem to be any talk about what kind of speeds to expect. I'm not going to hold my hopes any higher than maybe an x300 would have, although improvements in battery life can only be good for the whole industry. From what I can find, there is no desktop counterpart.

To my knowledge it is the R600 version of the current x300. Perhaps the first next gen. GPU in a notebook?

it's not DX 10, so it's not nearly as impressive as people were hoping.

IT IS NOT DX10 as mentioned. Sucks.

mobility radeon x2300 is directx 9c, and has a 3dmark06 score of 808
(x1300 has a 3dmark06 score of 560)

To put it into perspective here is a comparison-
the 3dmark06 score is a little higher than the Geforce Go 7400 (709)
and is closer to the mobility radeon x700 3dmark06 of 735.( note the x700 is a directx 9 card).

So it's about the equivalent of a x700 running directx 9c

58. ATI Mobility Radeon x2300 M64 4 (pixel shaders) 2 (vertex shaders) 480 (core speed) 400 (memory speed) 128 (memory bus) 9c (directx) 7564 (3dmark01) 3288 (3dmark03) 1520 (3dmark05) 808 (3dmark06)

The x700 should perform better, since it has 8 pixel shaders and 6 vertex shaders. Similar 3DMark scores do not mean it'll perform the same in gaming.
