VISTA: How can I "manually" import from XP my email messages?

Hello,

I want to import all my Outlook Express emails that I have in my XP laptop into my new Vista laptop. Is there a way to do it manually?

With XP I used to copy all emails in .dbx format from old computer to new one, from/into the "Outlook Express" folder, but I do not see such folder in Vista.

Thanks.

I would assume Windows Mail (should have replaced Outlook Express) would have an importing routine somewhere to do this

Yep...In the file menu there is usually an import/export options...just export all your mail then import in the new mail program.

Just export everything as a .pst or something like that then go to the new program and import your personal folder from that .pst.

Confused what you mean, but if you were confused because the files are on two differnt laptops then....

Go to the original laptop (the mail items you wish to have on your other lappy), open your mail program.

EX. for Outlook
Go to file>import and export>export to a file...
I usually use .pst so select .pst format>Select personal folders>choose your location to save)

Then, take that .pst file you just exported, put it on a disk/Flash drive/network location and then go to your other laptop and then do the opposite to import it.

Just move your DBX files to somewhere on your Vista system (e.g. in Documents), Then use the File/Import in My Mail. Point it to the documents folder where the DBX files are and you're done.
