What bugs me is the "network effect" that ipod has....more and more people are buying ipods because all their friends have them. And why do their friends have them? Not because they are educated buyers doing their research and picking the best product for them, but simply because its the mp3 player they saw an ad for on tv and when they went to best buy the guy told them "you want an ipod". but thats another rant for another day. DAP VS PMP: (quick and dirty explanation) DAPs are smaller devices with smaller screens meant to play music (although many do support videos). PMP are the larger devices (with the 3 to 6" screens) which have more multimedia options, better video support, and their larger screens allow for better viewing. not very practical for music however because they are huge and not very pocket friendly.
Couldn't agree more with you. Wasn't trying to start a pissing contest by any means, was merely pointing out why I use what I do. I was never fond of itunes as anything other than the middle man to my ipod when using Windows. However, when I bought macbook pro I become a lot more comfortable with it as my all around audio player and sorter. Suddenly I used it to play music and it took total control of my music collection. A lot of this has to do with the fact that I'm coming from years and years of having folders with thousands of songs. The biggest thing that would piss me off is forgetting what I did or didn't have, downloading it again, and then having duplicates. Was a total waste of space, and this is far more efficient. I suppose if I could find a program that took care of sorting my music like iTunes does, I wouldn't think twice about trying another brand.

Reporting back ... seem to be easily getting at least 5 hours on the new video iPod when watching video. Playing games on it does seem to eat up battery faster ... kind of addicted to ZUMA .
