I bought a Z92T in December, it worked fine for 2 weeks and then it stopped working: it would not boot up, I would press the power button and nothing happened (the battery would charge but the laptop would not turn on with or without the battery).
So I sent it to Asus for repair, it took 4 weeks for then to send it back to me with a new battery. Now, 2 weeks later, the problem started happening again in a different way (power light would turn green but nothing happened, if I resetted the laptop it would work with a cmos error msg asking me to reset to bios defaults and then worked) and finally, yesterday it just stopped working (same error as before: won't turn on... seems dead again).
I just noticed there is a red light inside the laptop (next to the SD drive bay on the right side) when the laptop is off (if there is a battery on or power is plugged in). Does anyone know what it is or know where to find a motherboard diagram for me to identify it?
The problem started when I started using the laptop on my bed (it heats up a lot in there but never crashes and performance is always great)... maybe that has an effect on the battery/power connections?
Does anyone have any ideas? I have also updated the BIOS to the latest version a couple of days before it stopped working.
Somebody on the forum had this problem before with a z70 but could get the laptop to run if it was plugged in with no battery, this didn't work for me, unfortunately.
I don't really trust the Asus guys as they took 4 weeks to fix something that didn't turn out to be right so I really need your help!
Thanks in advance!
