Where can I actually buy an Atheros Wifi card?

And I mean besides ebay, because I searched around a lot and everything seems to just lead to ebay. I don't wanna use ebay anymore because something happened with my paypal account a while ago and now I can't use it (totally wasn't my fault). Anyway this intel card I've had for almost a year sucks big time. I know that group buy is over and I should have jumped on it when I had the chance

Here you go.....If your laptop can handle the dough though.....

That first one...I can't seem to find any specs on it. You know of a link? I'd like to know what kind of range it has.
I have the Wistron CM9, which is two years old, and the specs say 1-6 MBps @ 400 meters.
It can run at up to 100 mW. But if that 400 mW sucker-upper can't do at least twice the range, I can't see the justification.

Here's another question. I have the intel wireless a/b/g card that comes with the M170. Why does it suck so much? I'm ALWAYS lagging in WoW terribly ALL THE TIME. I usually play when I'm plugged in but I can't do that with where my laptop is set up right now. Seriously... It's REALLY bad... any ideas?

Will that also fit the newer M1710 and the M90. I have a newer M90 and was wondering the same question?

this is the link to the specs of the seno card. You said that you had a CM9 which is perfectly fine. Just try tweaking the settings or modding your router. Remember it is a two lane highway, you cannot blame your wifi card for everything!!! And for range @ feet. It is difficult to say how much improvement will it give you but @400mW it is higher than what normal routers can give you (the highest a normal router can go is 251mW).....even the placement and obstruction to the signals can matter a lot....and all these phones and ovens......

@LifeVirusZERO
wireless is good but can never work better that wireed.....thats a proven FACT. If your laptop has interference like phones ovens......and even wall between your router.....all can affect the speed.....it has very little to do with the card....if you still feel it is lagging then go ahead and buy a senao or some atheros chipset based card......

@newfiejudd
you need mini-pci express for newer laptops....means your need 5006EX chipset based cards.....check the specs thourghly before buying.....best source of info is google.....

My Intel A/B/G works perfectly. Best card I have had. I have played BF2, COD2, Spearhead all without issues.

My 9300 had the same specs as your m170 except I had a pin mod running 2.4 GHz. I never had any problems at all running wow from my wireless card. What is the problem? Do you have signal strength issues or what? and just to rule it out you're saying plugged in meaning plugged into the modem right? you don't mean playing on battery power right?

Yes, well I meant plugged into the router. It's weird because my computer seems to have no problem sending information, the problem is receiving info. I can be sitting right next to my cousin who has a 9300 with the same specs as mine, and his latency will never be an issue. I will say something in party chat and hit enter and my cousin will see it right away, however it will take a really long time for it to show up on mine.

I think it seem from here that your computer is running high on processes. I mean before playing stop all un wanted processes. And clear your system tray area for unwanted processes. I uninstalled IE7.0 because my 9300 couldn't take it. and uninstalled the intel pro wireless....running windows utility...also uninstalled the mcafee and installed AVG Free+ windows defender. Do this and I think you lappy would be just like new. I felt the difference.....cheers. do tell me if you feel the difference

I got rid of a lot of processes that I didn't need. Down to 42. However the problem still exists. it even applies to more than just WoW. Just simple web browsing has been really slow too. Now here's something I should have mentioned, It never used to happen.

M170 uses mini-PCI exp or mini-PCI? I have a Atheros Wifi for mini-PCI in the following thread if you are interested.
