I don't see any drivers listed for your MX6433 Notebook here: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...14062Rnv.shtml So it looks like a system restore (roll back) might be in order, if that doesn't work, oepn up your Device Manager and look under Network drivers, and find another working PC and download, whatever the name of your network is, and if all else FAILS, then , get out your Restore DVD and do a Full system Restore, make sure to back up all your data be for e you do this.............

Gateway MX6433 doesn't came with a restore CD. And I didn't backup the all data that is pre-load on the hard drive. I partition my hard drive and when I re-install windows xp pro operating system. I have 5 qustions mark under device manager. I search all over the internet and gateway website, still no luck. E-mail the gateway customer serivce, say the Restore CD is out of stock. If you anyone know the driver for ethernet controller for mx6433, I will very appericated. thanks. s

You should have burned a drivers backup CD before you uninstall your original OS, and installed XP PRO
when you do get the drivers I would suggest that you DO THIS, it will save you a lotta probelms & headaches later on down the road........

You can chat with Gateway Technical Support for FREE, and they can tell you how to get the drivers you need, if they cannot, they can at least tell you what the names of the drivers are, that go with your MX6433 Gateway Notebook:

Thanks for your help qhn. Now I have one question mark under device manager. It the ethernet controller for wireless. The one I find doesn't work. If you have the same laptop as i do. Please help. or tell what kind of ethernet controller for wireless. Thanks in advance.

i do not have ur laptop, but gateway support clearly states u either have an intel (2200BG/2915ABG/3945ABG) or a broadcom generic. In one of ur post, u mentioned a realtek wifi controller - this has come up before in my emachines, but would not work for me - i must install a broadcom for it.

a yellow question mark under certain device does not always translate to that specific device that is missing driver. It might be related to other device driver ( a modem per example). I would recommend u just have to un.install the device with the yellow question mark and let the system try to re.install and search for the correct driver using the ones suggested on the gateway site
