Yep, that's the right part.
I've had a helluva time getting this from dell. They screwed up the price originally, and I thought I was going to get it for $107. Since then, they have cancelled my order three times. It's arrived at my friends place in CA now, so I'm waiting for it to get here so I can fire up 3dsmax and see how nice the maxtreme drivers are!
If you want to upgrade, work out first what you want to use your machine for. Is use mine mainly for 3D work, so the quadro is the best choice even though it has a 9600 pro t in it... (perhaps I may sell it whe the quadro arrives)
For games, go with an ATI - the 9600 Pro turbo is the quickest in this machine (8600, m60, d800). The quadro 1000 is marginally slower in games, but kicks ass in opengl workstation graphics applications.
If you want to buy another machine and want graphics power, dont get less than a 128m card.
If you want a dell, the M70 or 9300 are good value for workstation and gaming applications respectively, and if you search this forum and the web for sell coupons, you can get up to 35% off these sometimes! I spec'd a low end M70 for under $1500 - very cheap for a quick ddr400 laptop with a 256m workstation graphics card (though why the damn thing has no firewire, I have no idea)...
I don't know much about sony's xcept they are generally built well and have beautiful screens...
