Woohoo! Grats man unfortunatly I'm still waiting for my AX20 beast to leave Hypersonic HQ

I wish it was here now !! I"m getting so antsy its driving me nutz!... Anyway, sorry my post isn't gonna help you much, but I just want to let you know I'm envious :P Maybe Jascias or Zormac can give you some tips on where to go from here? oh and did you order it with Win XP or did you take the courageous plunge into vista?

How did you spec yours out?

Congrats on the new computer, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us.

Anyhow, to answer your questions: I ordered a barebones version of the AX20, a.k.a. Sager 5960, and it comes without the processor, memory, and HDs. I purchased those components separately, and for much less. The first thing that I would do is to make sure that there isn't any superfluous information, files, etc, on the HD(s) that you have. Make certain that you have just what you need.

Second, I would install all necessary updates from Microsoft Auto Updates.

Third, install your preferred graphics card driver provider, i.e., laptopvideo2go.com, etc. Make sure you completely remove your old video driver.

Fourth, begin installing the remainder of your software. Office Suite, Photoshop, Autocad, Maya, Games, etc.

Good luck, and enjoy.

Download drivers, backup your old files if you want to, download something so you can check your temperature of your CPU + GPU.

Thanks guys... right now i'm having a bit of trouble with my system. I've only installed the drivers that came with the system (clevo drivers) and did all the updates for windows XP, and out of the box, I can't play Lord of the Rings Battle for Middleearth 2 on it. The game will freeze when I load it, strange. And i'm having crashing problems playing Battlefield 2. These are the only 2 applications I have on it so far. Any advice?

Also, I'm having some sort of trouble with LAN. Seems i have to plug and unplug the LAN cable many times to establish a connection. But once I get it, it works flawlessly, until the next time i start up/reboot again, and i'll have to keep "enabling/disabling" the connection until i get a signal again. Its wierd.

Do you have XP or Vista? Did yours come pre installed? If so the pre install usually sucks! I had lots of problems, like the bluetooth wouldn't work. I did a fresh install and it fixed everthing. Also it could be a driver issue. Try to eliminate the easy stuff first. I can confirm that Battle for Middleearth 2 and Battlefield 2 do work well on the AX20.
