Best Laptop For College/Gaming Needs?

This fall I'll be out of the house and off to college. Due to the fact that I'll be staying on campus, a desktop computer is out of the question. I've decided for my gaming needs I'll buy a keyboard and mouse that can be attached to the laptop. I need something that has good batteries, I will not have access to an outlet except in my dorm room. I also want something that can handle games like world of warcraft. I've heard bad things about Dell (although there m1710 makes me slobber) I was told toshiba has nice laptops, but I've never really noticed them...

Any suggestions?

We need some more info like budget, range of games you'll be playing, how much battery life you'll need, and so on.

Budget is the major issue as $2000 opens up many more choices than $1000 will get you.

I'd like a laptop that can get about 3 hours of battery life. I play many high graphic games... Rakion, World of Warcraft, and several others. If you wouldn't mind, could you post the best lap tops for about $1,500 and $2,500 dollars, and the differences between them?

Better graphics is your paying over $2000 but that comes at the loss of battery life. You really cant get a top notch gaming laptop and expect it to reach 3 hours battery life. From what I've seen anyway

The M1710 is a good laptop, as is the Clevo M570u. I'm kinda in the same situation, as I want decent battery life and great graphics power. Though I'm not in college(though I may be going back soon). Either way, I think I'm going to go with a Clevo, unless I happen to find a really sweet deal on a M1710. For right about $2200 you can get a great configuration on a xVx Montrou-M S400(the Clevo M570u) and it'll do everything you need. Battery life will be closer to 2 hours if you conserve and about an hour id you're gaming. You can always get an extra battery though if you want to spend more time unplugged.

Personally, I think the Clevo is about the best laptop out there for the $2,000-$2,500 mark. You can get more powerful laptops, but not for under $3k.

I only plan on gaming while I'm plugged in, as I'll need a normail mouse for them. When it's unplugged I'll be in class, most likely just typing notes or listening to some music. Never heard of the clevo, I'll check it out now.
