Dell Depot Service

Hey Everyone,

I'm about to send my Inspiron E1405 (barely a month old!) for some problems into the Dell Depot...was wondering how everyone's experiences were? I read some posts back from 05/06 that were saying Dell would return laptops all scratched and dented up.....hopefully they have improved their quality repair services since then...

Any comments from anyone recently? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is a thread just a couple lines down saying that his laptop has been at the depot for 20+ days.

The only time I had to deal with such repairs from dell, I had my machine back in my hands in perfect working order within a week. But alas, this was over 2 years ago.

I highly doubt you will get your laptop back all dented. You could always take some pictures of it with a newspaper in the background if you havent sent it in yet. Then if you get it back and its dented or anything you have proof and they will be sending you a replacement : )

Got it back laptop back today w00t. Sent it on Monday got it back last night, seems everythins is in order. Dell sent it back in the same box I sent them and included a sheet of what they did to my machine.

The technicans changed out the "system board" (I"m assuming that is the notebook's motherboard) and palm-rest assembly. So I essentially got a new computer I guess w00t. This is my first laptop and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome......no dents or dings...just a few fingerprints on my screen.

Here's one + exerpeince for the depot!
