One time when I picked up an older Powerbook off a friend. I checked to see if their was any warranty left on the item, low and behold there was. It was in worn condition so I had it sent it for them to clean up the casing. 1st time I called support they gave me a speal about needing a receipt along with a statement from the original owner. This was not possible to archive. So I called again, this time to my local mac store no background check, no asking if it was mine, nothing.
moral of the story I think some of them read scripts, others just fix the problem. just keep checking and eventually someone will pass your system through the system.
