Dell 1501 Inspiron Problems

Thread Starter
I have three current problems with my new notebook. (New as in received on Christmas new) My USB ports don't seem to work, my audio doesn't work either when I try to play music (even though the startup sound plays when I restart the computer), and for some reason when I try to restart or shut down my computer, it doesn't shut down all the way. I have to hold down the power button to turn the computer totally off. All of these have happened once before, a few weeks ago, but fixed themselves when I turned off my computer and took it off the battery cord. Tried that this time and no luck. PLEASE HELP.

This all seems software related considering the problems are common with such. The easiest way you can fix all the problems all at once is to restore your os (another word reformat) fresh as if you got the system on christmas. Also turning off the system by using the force shutdown method can cause harm to your harddrive and not to mention slowly corrupt files. Its best you nip this in th ebud before it gets any worse and do a format. All your issues SHOULD be resolved however if it does not we can then assume its hardware related and troubleshoot instantly with you.
