Try changing the power scheme to "always on".

I'm KIDDING!

Maybe email them again without the same lead-in text!

You know running the 9750 with everything at max will give you 20 minutes of gameing and render you battery useless after you do that a few dozen times(assuming it doesnt explode... no really).

Just an FYI

I agree with Luke.

A machine like the 9750 is basically a desktop that you can use in your lap. The battery just keeps you from powering down immediately in case you accidentally unplug or maybe want to move positions. Even if you did get what you want to work, it would be impractical. IMHO

Just to let you know, there is often a bit of a language barrier when dealing with Sager staff directly. I wouldn't be so quick to call their tech support horrible.

Also see the above posts. Your notebook is programmed to downclock for practical reasons.

Just to let you know, your thread title blows. You are asking them how to configure windows, which is not their job. Search google and do the research yourself. There's about a million threads in these forums addressing your question. Honestly, I'd be one of the first people to help you out with your question, but the topic you used to get attention just pissed me off. It just pollutes the forums. He right, it has something to do with your power scheme. You might just need to upgrade your cpu drivers from amd. It could also be a 3rd party app you have installed. If all fails just reformat and try and work out the issue from a clean system.

Edit: I assumed that you are stuck at 1ghz. Do you understand these machines downclock when they are idle like nyako explained?

Let me give you my take on this, I personally believe the Sager 9750 has a compatibility issue with the X2 4400+ my friend. I have had this 9750 since it came out, running a 3500+ and it was FLAWLESS, I upgraded it recently to a X2 4400+ and I have the same issue. I have it plugged in, windows treats it like a desktop as it always did so i get full power. When playing games it will run great, the suddenly slow to a crawl for about 15-20 seconds.. as I watch my temps and CPU usage, the CPU usage drops out in those periods.. Today I downgraded my CPU and my problems went away. I want to try another X2 model and see if they work better.. but I know the 4400+ is the issue as I had the problem on both XP and VISTA.

from what I have gathered, this issue is specific to the 4400+

As for Sagers Support, they have been so awesome to me even though I purchased my system from PCTorque, they have answered my every email quickly, and have given me loads of help, I just think our issue is beyond thier abilities and they are not aware of it.

David Liu et al at Sager went above and beyond when I had problems with upgrading the hardware in my 3790.

two things in your case:
1) the information they gave you was technically correct ... twice, and they were polite even when you didn't "get it" the first time they gave you the answer.
2) They were almost certainly unaware the problem outlined by Misfit410 and that's perfectly reasonable, what's required to get to the bottom of unusual problems like this is for both parties to remain calm and state their problems and the steps they've taken clearly. I find it's often far easier to do this on the phone since if they misunderstand you can immediately say "no, I DID that already and it didn't fix the problem". Email is a great tool, but often it's limitations keep it from being useful.

I hope you get your issue resolved, but keep in mind the guys at Sager really are nop notch, and will go the extra mile to help you if they understand what you need (and they do have a bit of a language barrier, so you may need a little extra patience). So good luck.

I agree with drlouis. The guys at sager know their stuff. I have been emailing them back and forth for quite some time and they have been polite and have answered my questions fully.

Appears as though poor welliamwallace has been beaten into removing his post. Too bad, people do have a right to their opinion. I thought things were well addressed in the follow-up posts and hey, who hasn't felt the same way about dealing with may support people. I have several stories of my own, not with Sager yet, but ... given time and enough frustration ...

I would encourage welliamwallace to speak his mind but just don't give up and maybe be slightly calmer in title choices or not.

Don't get me wrong ... Allen and a couple of others have been VERY helpful to me (especially with Powernotebooks.com - the vendor through whom I got my Sager - backing me)...

However, I'm not sure they are so knowledgable about Windows stuff ... they didn't even know what sfc /scannow does and how it can help you!!
