Getting the webcam to work with quickplay

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I've read through most of the related threads with webcams and quickplay but my question is: How do I even access the webcam through quickplay 3.0? I read the instructions they had in the program which was open WEB-CAM/AV-IN through the source directory but I am unsure of how to do this (excuse me for being computer-incompatent). When I open quickplay, theres options like DVD, Video/Music/Pictures, TV, Karioke, and updates, but I see now way to open my webcam, and from reading the other threads in this forum, most people with dv2000z (my laptop) use quickplay to access their webcam.

Also, another problem is that my mic recording volume is too low even though I went into control panel and turned it up to 100%. Any suggestions?

Thank you to all who reply!

There *should* be an option under the Music/Video/Picture area that lists HP Webcam as a source. If there's not you might hit HP's website for an updated driver, install that and see if it does the trick.

As far as your microphone, there will be an option in the properties for your mic to use Microphone Boost. You might have to enable it; I did for the same reason you state.

When you open Quickplay-you will click on the option that shows a picture of a camera, reel of film and a musical note. Once opened, it will show up on the right side as HP Webcam.

Hope that helped!
