I realize that many people have posted on the issue of a core 2 duo based laptop (in my case a dv9000t) produces a whine noise when idle. My question is should i just return the laptop for a refund? Or is this an issue that will be solved in the future via a patch or something. To put it another way, is it a non fixable hardware issue? Or something that a bios fix and so forth could get rid of one day when Intel, HP or Apple admits that the issue is out there.
