thats all
and i dont care what any of you say....

i PERSONALLY beleve that the system check is NOT as good as they claim.... its my opinion thats all.... and all you that have good working machines claim they do it and all US that have lemons claim they dont.... im not bashing the company and all in all i think ive benn very decent throu all this.... i work in the concert bizz and ive seen customers spend 30.00 on a ticket and get into physical fights because there seats were printed wrong.... so i think im being quite good trough all this

im not trying to shy customers away.... i just think the full spectrum of the chart should be represented here.... good and bad

shure no company is perfect.... but alienware get pretty damm close to PERFECT when they talk of there systems.... you kinda expect that.... like buying a bently over a Geo Metro....

these things are custom by my standards

so they should act custom

thats all
didnt mean to piss anyone off

The crash that can only be undone by uplugging the machine was fixed a while back with bios 1.05 and up. Why has no one here told him to update the bios? I had the same issue when I recieved my alienware, and after updating the bios, it never crashed again. (seriously, not even once)

whatever

I notice that the title of this thread is offensive to many but the thread owner needs to have the opportunity to edit the title or delete the thread at their own discretion. I hope that it doesn't get deleted but I really suggest that the title is edited before member complaints make it a moderator decision.

This thread is silly. Send the stupid thing back, get it fixed and relax. Alianware is a good company and no matter what you think these things happen even after a 200pt check. I personally don't understand your purchase decision in the first place. If you want a fast computer for work then get a retail Dell or something like that. The performance differance between an Alianware and a Dell (or whatever) in business applications is nill, you won't even notice the differance. If your into gaming then that is what the Alianware caters to, so I question your judgement in the first place.

i knew they lied about 200 point check because my laptop was in phase 7 for 3 and half weeks and then i lost patience and on the day it went to phase 8 i called in for the 5th time, they appologize for "unknown" delay of (inventory check for manuals and cds? at least thats what all phases are prior to 9) So 5 times they lied to me about the status and on the last call i told them if if its not made on my 5th week im canceling, and this was friday btw. so what happens next? next monday i check the status and it went from phase 8 to phase 13. hmmz, i was happy but then curious whether my laptop was halfassed built. i guess i iwll never know, it runs fine, with minor bluescreens now and then, i'm planning to upgrade bios soon maybe that will do.

It was a suggestion ...

A car is a totally different thing altogether. All it lets you do is get from Point A to .... B and maybe race, if you're on about Ferraris + show off.

A computer lets you perform MANY tasks and different functions. I didn't tell him to use it for something certain, but he brought that upon himself. -__-'

Wow

Never thought this thread would have lasted this long.... allthough im happy.... i got you all talking and THINKING.... and thats a very good thing.... i meant no disrespect for anyone ither IN the government OR in the armed forces.... i just feel as ive said all along that i was told NOT THE TRUTH

hows that

some of you say im a baby.... and i should just buck up and deal with it.... i REFUSE
i paid hard earned money for this machine.... and to make my money it takes TIME and TIME is taken from my LIFE on this planet.... so if i spend 3000.00 on a machine then it better cam well do everything that it claims it can.... and i have a hard time just letting this blow over when my old 688MHZ runs more stable than the lappy with the same programs installed....

I DID fedex the machine back to alienware today.... and in response to this thread i have recived a couple messages from alienware tech.... ALSO they gave my machine a VIP status and i am now dealing with a critical care specialist.... EVERYONE should know that i do apricate that kind of response....

let me put it to you like this

from my place of bisness

lets say you stand in line for hours and hours waiting to buy a ticket to go see your favorite band.... and when you get to the window they tell you that your right in the front row.... and you fork over 60 some whatever the price is bucks.... and when you get to the concert and are directed to your seats.... you find that someone has the same ticket and you are relocated to some seats in the higher sections.... shure the usher may be prompt and courtious.... but you would be very very angry at the lack of attention to avoiding the conflict....

maybe thats a bad example....

and i did update the bios

i will keep you all updated

i apologize if i pissed anyone off.... but I DO NOT APOLOGIZE for being pissed at alienware and i WILL NOT give in and ACCEPT a mistake on there part....

thanks

You didn't piss me off ... I hardly got pissed off in the last 2 years.

Your situation is as frustrating as the wheels falling off of a trolley when you're nearly finished shopping at a supermarket.

You question his judgement?

I want to buy a Ferrari...regardless of whether I need it or not. And it arrives broken and refuses to work. You question my judgement or do yu question Maranello's ability to bring out a good product.

Dont be stupid...looks like this thread has worked to kournikova's benefit and Alienware is finally paying attention

You people are NOBODY to tell him what to buy or that he is right or wrong. This is something he paid for and he didnt get his money's worth...From what some of you are saying it is probably wiser to invest in a Dell than an Alienware? Are you out of your mind??

Kournikova - I sympathize with you and I hope you sort things out. Im doing a bit of sorting out with Sager at the moment Keep us updated and dont be afraid to voice your opinion. If someone is linking this thread title to their "nationalist" feelings then I tell them to look elsewhere and get a life.

And why should this thread title be offensive? It is just a point of view. I am sure that more than 50% of the people in the world believe that their government hides a lot of facts from the public. This discussion is not about this subject but trying to focus on something as silly as this just goes to show how petty we all can be.

I dont think the thread title should be edited or deleted. If something is even mildly against Alienware does it warrant deletion? In the case of Kournikova they screwed up BIG TIME and it is perfectly normal that he is pi$$ed off...This is HIS thread talking about his problems and experience so moderators and everyone else - stop focussing on whats NOT important and focus on the issues at hand.

Sheesh...I can understand brand loyalty and I am guilty of the same as far as Sager is concerned (not so much of late ) but some of you kids here are just so funny to observe...the way you strut around defending the motherland "Alienware"

Face it - they made a mistake, this guy is pi$$ed and he is telling the world about it. Anyone tries to shut him up or tone him down will only be bringing it on for him/herself.

GS,

What's wrong with your 8790? And didn't you get it from PCTorque? Why are you dealing with Sager?

Aurora,
How do you edit a title of a thread? I'm not certain a general user has that capability. I read through the help and faq and saw nothing to this account. If you edit the title in the original post, is does nothing to the title of the thread. I tested it out on this thread.

He is correct Aurora. Only Mods/Admins have this feature.

I'll be happy to change this title, or any other. Just let me know.

Says alot about their support in the way they addressed the issue. dell gave my computer an RIP status, and I couldn't even get them to remove the fresh carcus from my living room floor after taking 3 days off at their request for pickup

Some of us find our government offensive... can we get a moderator to change it?

Pretty cool that the notebook's getting fixed. Guess it's good for the wheel to squeak once in a while.

Politics suck ... in my opinion ...

Over in UK, it's the same over and over

Blair lying over 45min claim of Iraq
Schools to get boost
stuff and stuff

I actually don't give a dam about them though ...
kournikova462,
If you had a buck for every post in this thread, you could almost buy a new computer with that!

Oh yeah... Politics doesn't suck... People suck!

ahhh, I thought the person that starts a new thread had the ability to change the title or delete a thread. Ok then, I'll moderate the government.
