There is a delete option, which is kinda funny, because you can't delete a post after it has been viewed, but you can delete a thread with several posts.

I never tried to use the thread delete option though, as much as I wanted to in the other thread, I wouldn't feel right trying to cover up my ignorance in that manner.

It was NOT unnecessary.... it was DEMANDED.... i will not silently sit back and take a lemon....

I KNOW THEY WILL FIX IT

I KNOW THEY ARE GOOD

i also know that i should not have had to deal with this.... yes $hit happens but you know what.... if i have to put up with the $hit that happened then they have to listen to my Complaining.... im sorry if im not the type of person to lie down and get taken.... and i assure you if i DIDNT make as big of a deal about this as i did it would not have been resolved as quickly.... its still NOT resolved we will see what happens

but yes

the squeaky wheel gets the oil

Good Day to everyone, hope everyone is well.

I would like to say to Kournikova462 that we here understand and sympathize with his issue and will do all we can to resolve it in a prompt and correct manner.

We at Alienware strive to create a strong connection with our customers and help them with what they need. If we did not go out to other forums and stayed within our "Spaceship", we may have not heard of this problem and it might have just droned on and on with no resolution. Not many companies out there now are doing this.

Please also remember we have many other means to contact us, be it phone, e-mail, chat, or our own Alienware Forums. So also remember to post there when you are concerns or questions so they can be addressed promptly.

Anytime I send out a PM to help out someone, it is in their best interest to respond, because here at Alienware we want to help you. If help is ignored, there is not much we can do.

Now go have some fun

JuanG, cant you try to trick some EU alien tech support guys into this forum.
I don´t want to be rude, but i don´t fully trust americans, so some good old irish fellows would be much apreciated.

I can understand being angry but I can also see part of alienmomma's point. This thread does appear to be a warinng to all people that have an interest in buying Alienware. A problem did arise in the system and there was more of an attempt to injure Alienware for it than get the issue resolved. That will never affect Alienware's dedication to the support of an Alienware customer and I know that these guys/gals at Alienware take it personal when it comes to customer satisfaction. Things like this will happen from time to time but it should just go to show how strong the dedication that Alienware has to its customers.

Well put in that post two posts back Aurora. <--thats a mouthful eh?

I bought a Plextor External DVDR+/- a few days ago. I decided to upgrade to the latest firmware off of their site for good measure.

Well, wouldn't you know it...the firmware borked the DVDR so bad it won't burn anything except shiny coasters now :-/

I politely called Plextor and after one more avenue that their tech support suggested, they decided the unit was beyond software repair. There is a new on one the way to me as you read this...along with a 5pack of DVDR's to offset my new coaster collection.

Moral of the story is you have to give a company an opportunity to correct issues that may arise with their products and services. 99% of companies are good hearted people that truly want to put out a great product and back it with excellent support but in between the trials and tribulations of everday businesses (and believe me I work for a billion dollar, multi national corp...I know), especially one as big as Alienware, the level of disconnect can be accentuated unknowingly by the manufacturer.

The fact that we've seen several posts by Alienware-Juan speaks volumes. And if you still think Alienware doesn't care (ahem, constant Alienware flamers that have never owned one, you know who you are)...then you've got a long life full of disappointments ahead of you.

I've bought homes, cars, boats, every electronic device you can imagine, ect in my 30 years and believe me when I say, Alienware ranks at the TOP of my excellent purchasing experiences.

Ok, nuff said...now I've got to go work so I can pay for all these toys

Have a great day everyone!

Yea. I was just messing with harkon. a little play on the "fighting Irish" thing.
It would be great to have EU Alienware in the forum. As it is now, Alienware has some Big Guns here to represent. But an EU Alienware presence would be excellent for our International Alienware Owners. Peace harkon.

AN UPDATE

my machine has reached florida.... and it was imediatly put in the hands of an tech.... so far they have found issues with driver onflicts and the such.... im not shure yet.... anyhow they should be shipping it back out to me by monday.... i told them to take there time with it, as i want it fixed right....

NOW

i have to say that i still stand firm in my dissapointment in having to deal with this from the get go.... and i dont care what any of you say.... if it were you, you would be just as pissed....

ALEINWARE IS A GREAT COMPANY

if said this from the start.... there service is very good i never have to wait on the phone and Maria R is AWESOME.... she works in critical care and has helped me greatly with the whole ordeal.... i will continue to suport Alienware and i do think they make great machines.... and i guess this is a great test of how they operate when an A$$HOLE like me is pissy with them

I AM AN A$$HOLE
never said i wasnt

and as far as this thread chasing away customers.... im pretty sure i never once told anyone to stear clear of there computers.... i do however think its only fair to show ALL sides of the story GOOD and BAD.... this is my BAD experence.... and yes it cold ave been much worse.... im very happy with how they handled it and you can quote me on that.... i was NEVER rude with anyone on the phone as hard as it was for to hold back.... and i aggree you catch more flys with honey

still

its the principal of the matter

thats all

i will let you know how it goes and keep you all updated

thanks to all of you

and explain to me

how it could be self inflicted when i followed all there troubleshooting recomendations

update the bios

reformat reinstall

defrag

and i seem to remember reading real clear that they check for driver conflicts the the.... wonderfull 200 point check.... make no mistake people this machine crashed within the first hour out of the box.... BEFORE i even installed anything....

if it was my doing do you really think i would send the POS back to alienware when i could just simply undo whatever it was i did....

thanks for the concern

O.K. guys. I think everyone needs to take a step back. Relax. Take a deep breath. Breeeeath

If you wish to enter the mind of Donald Sutherland (now that is frickin scary), let's have some good karma circlin' around this thread for a change.

I think the comments about the drivers have to do with the fact that they are something you can install after factory. That really doesn't matter though, because the issues happened before kourn ever changed a thing.

As Aurora said, they're looking out for him now. That's between Kourn and AW now, it's none of our business until he gets back to us to let us know everything is working peachy.

Kourn, change your signature, having all those negative vibes is bad karma, you wanna have good karma for when your pristine system comes back from depot, we don't wanna be thinking about any "crash" between now and then.

Now let's all relax, good vibes, good karma.

Uhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm, Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmm
