Just got my AX20... but I'm worried

Pethos, All of those things you've listed are normal. I have double and triple checked the temps and found that the 55-65c range is quite typical for the notebook, especially if you have the processor, memory, and vid cards right next to eachother. As for the fans, I too noticed the strange fan noises. What I did was to dismantle take out the heatsink and fan assembly and sand down the fins a it so that they didn't rub against the metal heatsink. This has improved the processor temps and I have no noise difficulties. (Remember that this is a suggestion and the results are not my responsibility). I found that whomever had assembled my notebook had placed little rubber pads where they pushed the heatsink and fan against the large access panel on the bottom. I removed it and placed a few heat pads in its place. Again, this has done wonders for heat dispersion and noise reduction. Secondly, upon starting your machine the processor heatsink and fan will spin at maximum rpms, then they will cycle down to the normal regulating speeds. I'm not sure why this happens, but there haven't been adverse effects. When all is said and done, I'm very pleased with my 5960 (ax20). The screen is incredible and the heat on the right hand side, although more of an issue than with my i9300, is manageable. My temps went from 58c after light business use to high 40's and low 50's after I did the above referenced precautions. Good luck! el Don

Also, (after you do the above), don't forget you can turn on max fans which work really well to keep the temps down.
