Add my 9880 to the list...

Dead at 1 year, 4 months a couple of months ago. From what I can tell, the DC jack is burned up (as in it melted the AC adapter plug) and the video card is fried (6800 Ultra). I'm not sure if the motherboard itself got damaged.

Fortunately (maybe) I bought the 3 year extended warranty. Unfortunately (maybe) it is through Philips. So my machine has been shipped all over the country, first to Micromedics who couldn't fix it, then to Sager, then back to Micromedics, then back to me in the next day or two.

Here is my question: Has anyone here used the lemon clause in the Philips warranty? I still have a year and a half on my warranty with them... plenty of time for other misshaps...

Got my unit back today (after nearly 2 months). Everything seems to be working fine, all of my data was there, no scratches that weren't already there. Also it seems that Sager upgraded the video card from a 6800 Ultra to 7800GTX, so bonus there. Overall, my experience wasn't as bad as many others. It took much longer than I would have thought, but it appears that they took good care of my machine (Micromedics and Sager.) BTW, there is someone that's actually nice at Micromedics (unlike most of the others I dealt with there). His name is Matthew and he actually seems to care.
