4 year old Sony PCG-FRV25 too slow!!

I have a 4 year old Sony FRV25 laptop, when i first bought it, it runs very smoothly, even with warcraft3 and jedi knight2, it runs without any problem. Now after 4 years, my system could barely run even firefox for web surfing. IF i open multiple pages with flash on it, it starts to slow down very quickly. Can't play any games on it anymore coz it slows down also. Even alot of other simple process it slows down too much.


I've updated my drivers to all available latest drivers

CPU temp at 75C usually
HDD temp around 50C
running WinXP SP2 with all updates available.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? Even with a fresh install of windows i would still have this problem.

have you tried spyware & virus removal.

Your CPU temp is abnormally high. I'd open up your notebook and blow out accumulated dust in the fans. If you have too much dust accumulation, then your cooling fan becomes much less effective and leads to much higher CPU temps. In such a situation, your processor can throttle down in order to avoid overheating, which would make your computer run slower.
