Updated last night...no issues at all...now I cant say that for my win2k3 server box...SP2 came out...I put it on...and the box is dead...windows hardly starts.. Had to go into safe mode and rip the patch off...

I gotta replace this dell with a mac pro!!!

yup last tiger update *tear*

I was running the update on mine and I noticed something kinda strange. I did it at the same time as a friend of mine who has a C2D macbook and his update came out to 163MB for the 10.4.9 update. I did mine at the exact same time and had a 99.7MB update for a CD macbook pro. Didnt think much of it at the time until a was reading macinsider which stated that the updates for all intel mac's were indeed 163mb and that the updates for the PPC macs were 300some megs.

needless to say i am thinking if i got a el cheapo update because of some certian config or hardware?

any ideas?

maybe that just means the PPC had more things wrong with it that needed to be fixed than the x86 version. also consider what components of the os you have installed and which ones you don't (and thus don't need patches)

I don't know what updates you guys downloaded but the PPC combo update was 163 and the Intel update was 310.

The delta updates are 72 and and 160 respectively.

Just for the record, nothing says that this will be the last update before leopard really, that all depends on how long they take to get leopard out, and if there is major work to be done before 10.4 is EOL. Nothing stopping em from going to 10.4.10

Historically they've only ever updated to 10.x.9, but yeah, there's nothing that says this has to be the last one.

It's a shame, really, that they don't keep updating versions of OS X that are still supported.

they do release custom patches also, which i think theyll need for 10.4.9 . my sound has started acting funny. When i use my headphones, the first three or 4 Volume clicks produce a wierd feedback noise, after that more clicking up/down is fine.
