I noticed they now have a wxga+ option which I assume is 1440x900, out of the 3 options, xga, wxga+, or sxga+ what would be the best option for regular use and some light gaming with the x1400? thanks!

wsga is 1680x1050

you're right, but they have a wxga+ option now too

My bad i misread that. WXGA+ is 1280 x 800 and WSGA+ is 1680 x 1050.

wouldn't wxga be 1280x800, wxga+ be 1440x900, and wsxga+ be 1680x1050? they have 3 options now and wxga+ on any other laptop is 1440

Hmm, you got me there! Wow, 1440x900 would be the best of both worlds. Not too big, not too small and performance in video games would be much better rather than in 1680x1050 resolution; WoW is sure taking a beating while in 1680x1050 in Vista rather than XP. Still, X1400 is more than enough for light gaming (and will perform better with smaller resolutions less than 1600x1200/ 1680/1050). Mmmm more fps in 1440x900 res!

All I can say is stay away from the WXGA. I got an E1505 with one, and the screen is bad for everything (bad viewing angles, bleeding). I just reordered a new one with the WSGA+. Everyone seems to like it, and it sounds like its worth the extra money.

Search for a thread about WSGA vs. WXGA+. There was one recently.
