Forget it, it's in the Inquirer... But if you're into dreaming and drooling, head on over there: "To provide best 3D graphic performance, nVidia MXM IV SLI technology is also designed in Clevo D900C. That means you can always benefit from the newest high-end graphic technology provided by nVidia, like GeForce Go 8800, and enjoy the fast changing and photographic scenes of your favorite games." Then go and click on the "Custom Build" button, and see what you get...

Yeah, that's why I said speculation...I don't state presumptions as fact like you guys do.

I remember back in the day when people told me my laptop can't play games as good as there desktop; this was of course before I showed them that not only can my game play games as good as, but it played them better than.

Now, if I remember correctly. People said the 7800GTX wasn't going to be able to be a laptop video card, but they did it. I also remember the same thing about the 7900s, NOT being able to be laptop video cards, and guess what? They are.

Just going by what "You" can't physically can't do, or can't possibly comprehend that it can happen; that's fine. Just stay out of the way of the people who actually do it.

For everyone that is doubting the appearence and/or possibility of the 8 series cards showing up in laptops, check out this beauty from Samsung (no, that is not a typo)

Don't know what a nVidia 8000M is, but it IS DX10 and MXM-IV compliant.....
with the 6800u's power req I dont know why anyone doubted the 7800...the leap here is a little bigger and the processing is the same...Really I dont care though, I'll be happy with a 7800gtx if I can get one
post #16 of 30
im sure 8 series cards will appear, but i still will say you wont see one immediately or any time very soon, they need a process shrink first, and that wont be ready until Q3.

No one's doubting the eventual appearance of the 8800 in notebooks, just not this soon. They need to move to a smaller die, so help resolve some heat issues.

The question isn't if or when we'll see the 8xxx mobile cards, it has already been confirmed they will around in the same timeframe as santa rosa, which is said to be May.

The question is if we'll see a high-end or "Enthusiast" one of these in this lineup or will we get only mainstream cards until later in the year.

*If the claim of the "Enthusiast DirectX 10 VGA" in that laptop turns out in fact to be a mobile 8800, then I would say they're not working on making it happen, they've done it and expect it to be out with the lineup in May.

IDK, Its all speculation. But these cards run supper hot on the big stock heatsink in the desktop versions. If we do see an 8800 in the mobile segment, hats off to clevo. But its gonna run very hot and be pretty damn power hungry. If does come out, I would also expect to pay lots of $$$$ for it. I am guessing for a decked out one, around 3K.

It seems we will be having dx10 soon, honestly I expect to be true that 8800's is on the way
