Help!!! Bought the PCTV USB2 (I think it is the 50e but could well be the 100e, they both look the same) with Vision version 1.1 software...not too long ago I must say. and no joy with that. And none with Vision 5.5 from the suppoprt site. PCTV Pro 4.7 appears to be the Vista compatible software, but alas I don't have Mediacentre serial. So, please help!

Mine worked on my desktop with it for a few minutes and then it would skip and lock up. I removed vista ultimate from my desktop and now I am back to XP.

im using PCTV USB2 1.10 (41004623) software, the "latest" from pinnacle.

to install, you have to right click the setup.exe and set winxp compatibility, and run as admin.

after the install is done, go to device manager and look under sound. Youll notice an error for pctv usb2 pal. Right click that and go to properties and manual update driver.

point to C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\PCTV USB2\Vision, and let me pick from a list.

now you should see pctv usb2 2821 audio, double click that to install.

now pctv should be working, if theres no picture but sound rightclick-settings-video

just check noise filter, or some interlace and pic should come back.

Also the program "chris tv" should work now for the card in vista.

Merci monsieur "bache"!!! Almost got it working now. However, the video is a problem. Only works if I change the noise filter or interlacing settings, and then video goes blank if change channel. Vision program seems to run slower overall too, worked perfectly before Vista upgrade (running a PM770 with 2GB RAM and a GeForce go6800, so no hardware limitations). Gave all the compatibility settings a go but no luck there.

I'm having trouble getting my pinnacle hd pro stick to work with xp. It used to work, but it quit after one of Microsoft's patches this past July. I'm just now getting around to trying to fix it. I uninstalled/re-installed the latest version. Everything seems ok, but I get no picture and very, very choppy sound at best. This makes me think it's a performance issue, but the "Settings/Information" features says my dual core PC is fine to run the software (and it used to work). Any ideas on where to start.

Hello Bache,
I got it working in this way:
connect the pctv to the pc (with vista home premium)
let ms search for driver
ms found and installed driver
start nero invision, choose capture device: pctv
start vlc media player (http://www.videolan.org/)
menu media
open recording device
select pctv etc. etc. etc.
and voila it works
Greetings
Chris

did you get any of the other software working? i cant.
however, i did get the PCTV built onto the stick to work. and i have Windows Media Center running, recording, and working perfectly with Vista Ultimate.

Yes, but remove (and clean registry) / do not install original software form Pinnacle.
Just let ms search for the new driver on internet.
Chris-tv , videolan, nero in-vision etc. work.
Mind you: no remote control
I will look into that.
