I know there are many ways to change icons, but i was wonder what the easest way to change it without messing up my OS? I am using shapeshifter to change my theme, but when i download the icons they are only pictures and not the shapeshifter format.

I use Iconpackager which can be ought on its own or as part of the Object Desktop suite of programs. It allows you to change single icons or a whole set.

Thanks for the link, but I was asking how to change icons in a Mac not PC.

ok...first find the icon you want...
for the one you want to change right click and select Get Info...then the same for the Icon you want to change it to...in the Get Info window, click the icon picture on the top on the window...then open-apple C. Click on the icon you want changed in the Get Into window and paste it with open-apple V. The icon should now be changed...

i agree, candybar works great, also if you use a macbook or macbook pro, check these out http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21718 . i always wanted to try shapeshifter, but my experience in windows with window blinds soured me on the whole theme ideas... (resource hog, however i have no idea on shapeshifter)
