First, before doing anything drastic, always prepare a set of recovery disks. In that case, you will always be able to get back to manufacture disk, with Vista installed. This is the safety net.
Yesterday I did the downgrade (or should I say upgrade actually) of my FE880 from Vista to XP.
After that, nothing actually works :-(
The first thing we need is the network drivers. You can install the Vista network drivers and it works fine on XPhttp://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...=2409&os_id=28
Then, instead of messing around and find the correct drivers for all devices, I went to http://www.driveragent.com
-- did a free scan and paid $29 to get the drivers for the wireless, USBControl, PCI, display and mouse. I am sure they are accessible somewhere else for free, but I was too lazy (or too mad) to look for.
Now I have a working machine, but I still need more stuff and I dont know where to find them...
1. There is still one driver missing in my "Device Manager" for a PCI Device. I dont know what...
2. The DVD write does not work. It reads fine but cant write. I still have to check if it can write CDs...
3. No sound
4. No camera
Because I use this machine for business, these items are less critical to me, but still I would love to find the drivers.
