dell total satisfaction policy

Hi, im returning my 640m, getting a new 6400 instead.
Just wanted to ask, that it just came to my mind, they wont like refuse it back when they see that I have reinstalled windows and resized the partition. I didnt touch the dell media direct, so that is there and the dell untility. BUt i resized the two partitions. any info? thanks

They will not refuse a return if you did no physical damage to the system.

umm, I was reading things online, and im unclear about one thing. That do the software that came with the laptop have to be intact? As since i resinstalled windows I had to reinstall the software, so i opened them. this is what came with the comp, I didnt buy any additional software. they will still refund me the whole amount? thanks

Most likely not, because there will be a 15% restocking fee on returns. So even if you just turned it on once, and done nothing else, you would still be charged the 15%.

Well i never saw any mention of restocking fee. They only said that u would have to pay the shipping and insurance costs to send it back. But since I Replaced it with another system, they said they will waive that cost and will refund me the full amount I paid. I did ask them if I have to pack it any certain way for return, they said no, just return everything. So thats why im a bit paranoid now, that they didnt say anything about intact software. Dont wanna ask them as then they might say yes lol. hmmm I guess maybe the policies are different for here in australia than in north america.
