PCG-6D1L (VGN-S260) Won't Boot

Thread Starter
I am trying to fix this PCG-6D1L and it doesn't do anything. No signs of life at all. I have disassembled it entirely and double checked all connections, reseated the RAM, CPU, tested the AC adapter voltage, etc.

Is there any sort of CMOS jumper or way to reset the CMOS on these Sony laptops?

This just happened to me as well. Same model. I have no clue as to what it might be. No lights, so whirs, no sounds, no nothing when I turn it on. Can anyone help?

One day the Laptop was working great, no problems. Went to boot it up the following day, and it is "DEAD" I checked all the connections and everything seemed fine. The Laptop was not overheating so that is not the issue. If anyone has any idea's please post the problem and the solution.

Notorious for this model. Bake the board or replace it.

Try also putting pressure on the right hand corner of the notebook and just below the keyboard whilst turning the power on. Works sometime

cheers ...
