Hopefully a stupid Battery question

I've had my 9880-C for quite a while now with no problems - after the MB was exchanged - except this:

I can't use the battery anymore to turn the laptop one? It's ac or nothing? Anyone know what happened? Did I accidentally hit a Fn Fwhatever key that turned the battery off?

If the battery is over a year and a half old - it is probably no long any good. Normally last a bit over a year.

Hmph...that's waht I was afraid of. Man, that seems short lived, but what the heck; that's how it goes. Thanks man, I appreciate it.
