I've experienced this strange thing ocurring to my screen everytime I remove the AC adaptor or switch off the AC supply.
The screen would flicker and then go blank (black screen). Moving the mouse (via touch pad) will then make the screen flicker more.
When I plug the AC adaptor back in, the screen re-appears back to normal.
At first I thought it was the common issue that the M1210 was having with the screens but in my case, everything was fine when I plug the AC power back into the laptop.
Another scenario is:
If I boot without the AC power plugged in, the screen works fine. BUT... If I watch a "MOVIE" using any sort of media player. The flicker issue comes back when I close the media player. It only happens when playing a movie, no issue if I play a music file (MP3. WAV etc..)
After re-installing the OS twice and loading just the bare essential drivers I had gone mad.
To cut a long story short, I discovered the culprit.
In device manager under "Batteries", I disabled 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Batter'. Now everything is fine.
Except...now I can not see the battery status in the system taskbar telling me how much battery life I have left. When I am running off battery.
I have installed the latest Quickset.
Anyon else experience this issue?
Could really do with some advice as to what has occured and how to resolve it.
Thanks,
Jayz
