OMG!!!! That thing will be a beast! I want one so badly!

I honestly don't think you'll get more battery life.
Conroe = more heat/power than Merom
SLI = 2 x power use.

but it is a sexy computer that is my new dream. *drools*
I wonder if they have a sort of tradein/upgrade program :]

Yeah, when it first came out on the website they had a quad proc offered but it was significantly more expensive, im trying to keep the comp around 3k (i have to pay shipping and state tax which blows). The big thing I am worried about with buying a new comp is when DX10 comes out but i need to the order the comp around mid may (I need it at the start of the summer) so i do not believe DX10 will be out by then.

I may be ordering one from Sager later this week, it depends on if my Boss's brother buys my EX7......he is gonna look at it at work tommorrow....told hin $3200......he said if its like new and has all I said it does he wants it..woohoo.......I am going with Sager because of a few issues I have with Hypersonic and I can save a few hundred bucks...I will get the extreme cpu and the dual 7950 gpu' and 2 gigs of ram......Hyper needs to do a little work on their tech support and customer support....its been almost 8 months since I spoke with them and they were gonna call me back...well I am still waiting for that call......Sager gives lifetine support.....I realy dont need it except for the warranty period but the do offer it free and that says something to me...I am afraid Hyper sort of diss's ya after the sale...hard to get repeat customers like this and the horror stories from those who sent their system in for repairs.....I would expect this from a co who sells low end systems, but not from a co. that deal with high end high priced systems...after this I even considered going back to Dell...now thats bad.....I will realy do some research this time before I buy from Sager...got tons of questions before I place my order......

Mountain:

I am sorry that you didn't get a call back. I am here to help you in any way that I can, and have only been as far as the PM button.
Hypersonic offers lifetime technical support on all our systems. We have not turned anyone down after their platinum warranty is over. It only means that their 24/7 support has expired.

I am here to help you with your Hypersonic notebook. Good luck on your future purchase!

Pat.

Well I've been following the Clevo D900C and reading the reviews. Seeing that it was listed on other sites around the 14th of this month, I was hoping it would be a matter of time before Hype got it listed.

However the 7950 offered now will soon include the 8800 GO card.

Either case this is the machine I have been waiting for. I have the EX7 and as soon as I get my Tax refund will be ordering one.

These machines are pure desk top replacement work horses. I'm glad it arrived.

And according to reports the battery life should be about the same for the EX7 and FX7, which in either case I plug in.

in dealing with battery life, according to the site it says 2 hours+, now when im on battery its not to game usually im outside on the deck talking on AIM, so if im not on a game what kind of battery life could I expect?
Also, anyone know the release date for dx10 cards with laptops?
They are saying that the battery life will be somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half. That is roughly the same I get with my EX7 (more like under an hour). However with the "lower" wattage chips who knows. I would go with an extension cord over extra battery. Battery is good incase there is a power outage, call it cheap power backup, gives you enough time and more to deal with what you have to do before shutting down.

I know one thing AIM would be one of the least things I run with this. And for one thing do NOT place it on your lap. This is a DTR and as such needs as much ventilation as possible.

Like one site said Clevo tends to cram a lot of stuff into these machines, someone even joked that they are SFF's. They are heavy duty laptops that run like workstations. They are extremely cost effective for what they can and will do. No matter who's you buy the D900C will rock.

I think they are waiting for the Dx10 vista drivers before they release them. They have the Dx10 already (8800GO cards). They are just prereleasing for those who want the 7950's without Dx10. As soon as they get the drivers you will see the 8800's listed.

Yes do not put the EQ7 on your lap or any other surface like a rug. Put it on a solid surface, and don't put things behind it because then it won't ventilate good. When they say 2 hr, they usually mean doing nothing, leaving it, not using the video card + multiple cores. You'll probably get 1-1 30 hrs of battery life. Its not a lot, but your getting a laptop that can smoke just about any desktop out there.
