CCCP for all your playing needs in Windows Media Player
Media Player Classic for all other playing needs
and
VLC player if you those two above don't satisfy you.

I use Divx player pro which comes with a codec also but you can download K-Lite codec pack which will give you every codec you could need and its free

k-lite is for dinosaurs use cccp. well ive used both. they are about the same really

CCCP is for simpletons, use MPC+ffdshow

After all, that's all CCCP is, MPC, ffdshow, and a few other splitters/filters bundled up.

I always say, rather than getting bloated codec packs like CCCP, just install MPC and ffdshow (and maybe DirectVobSub if you watch Anime that uses more advanced subs than MPC can handle). That'll play pretty much everything.
